Video Observation of a Japanese Elementary Science Lesson
Comparative perspective on education is one of the unique aspects of JUSTEC. For the first time in JUSTEC history, both Japanese and US participants sit down and observe one whole lesson videotaped in a Japanese public school. This session is planned to provide us an opportunity to learn different perspective on and various interpretations of a same lesson. It is our hope that discussion stimulates reflection on our taken-for-granted assumptions and values in education.
